Foods That Promote Weight Loss

Weight loss foods? Do they exist? There is very simple explanation of foods that promote weight loss. For simplicity we will divide foods on two groups – foods that give big amount of instant

energy for a short period and foods that give small portions of energy for a long period of time.
Foods that promote weight loss are from the second group. In other words weight loss foods give you the chance to spend the energy you eat because they release their energy for several hours

and you have time to spend their energy (aka calories).
For example when you eat chocolate your body receives instant energy and the only way to spend this energy/calories is to do some activity immediately after eating the chocolate bar. Can

you imagine to eat sweets and after that to start running? 99,99% of people will not do this. Instead of this, they will eat the chocolate and will go on sitting on the chair and doing their office

work.
If you are a type of person whose job is more remaining in one place than you have to avoid foods that give you big amount of instant energy and to eat foods that release their energy for several hours, aka foods that promote weight loss.

List of weight loss foods and their benefits:
Vegetables – they consists Vitamins and minerals that are essential to sustain life. Vegetables also preserve from constipation and support your digestive system in good condition.

Whole grain bread – this type of bread is healthy and you can include 2 slices of it in your daily diet.
Oatmeal – consist of good (slow) carbohydrates, gives you energy for a long period, so you have the chance to spend it. Recent studies show that eating one bowl of oatmeal per day lower the

bad cholesterol (there are two types of cholesterol – bad and good).
Lean meat – it contains mainly protein, which is important food to sustain your muscles. Usually weight loss is related to fat loss, not to muscle loss, that’s why eating lean meat is a must for your

weight loss diet. Meat must be prepared baked, on barbeque or boiled. Fried meat is not good for your diet and also most of the fried foods are not healthy.
Fish – it contains protein and omega 3 fatty acids which are very important in supporting hear

t and people at high risk of cardiovascular disease.
Nuts – especially eaten raw. Nuts contain fat from the good type, good proportion of

carbohydrates and protein, vitamins, minerals and fiber. Most of the nuts contain potassium, research shows that potassium can reduce the risk of hypertension.

Yoghurt – normally yoghurt has around 3.6% fat which is not so bad like many people think. The problem with yoghurt is that there are many fatter types which also have added sweeteners. If you eat plain, normal yoghurt, for example a pound (500 grams) per day this will not hurt your weight loss program. Avoid sweet yoghurt with fat percent more than 3.6%.
White Greek cheese – normal fat for this cheese is app. 22-25%. You can add it to tomato sal

ad, or put it over a whole grain slice of bread. 4 oz (100 grams) per serving is good for your weight loss goals. Cheese contains Calcium which is important ingredient of your diet. Researche

s indicate that people who include Calcium in their diet achieve easier and bigger weight loss.
Foods that can NOT be considered as promoting weight loss are:

Cookies - contain bad sugar, bad fat and white flour, which is not good for your digestive system and for your diet.
